Itaewon....

Today we decided to venture off post.  We asked around to see where would be the best place for us to start with our kids and several people said Itaewon.  It is a district of Seoul and is located right outside one of the gates here on post.  We still do not have our truck. It's here, but Josh has to take the Korean drivers test ( which he does on Wednesday ) before he can pick it up.  So, right now we are taking the bus to where we need to go.

Before we headed to Itaewon, Josh needed to stop and get a haircut.  We went to a place inside the Dragon Hill Lodge.  While he was there, the kids and I went to the little bakery inside and grabbed some doughnuts for a pretreat!  They were YUMMY!

Waiting on the bus to come.....

Enjoying our pretreat while waiting on Daddy to get his hair cut...

Love his expression..he was explaining something to Rachel ( can't remember what )

After the haircut, we headed to Itaewon!  We were going to take the shuttle bus, but it was going to be another 25 minutes before it would come, so we decided to walk.  It was a pretty good walk, but the kids did great!

We passed their school on the way there...this is one of two playgrounds it has!

After a good walk, we finally made it!!  It wasn't as busy as I thought it would be, but that could be because it was very overcast and was supposed to rain!  The first place the kids wanted to go to was McDonalds!

Entering Itaewon...

On the way to McDonalds, there were lots of street vendors.  The kids saw these socks and wanted to get a pair.  The lady LOVED our kids, especially Rachel.

I wanted to try something a little different and it was actually really good!

After McDonalds we walked around the streets to explore a little. Of course when the kids saw some toys they had to stop in.  Angry Birds are BIG over here, so Caleb has been in heaven.  They have also been introduced to a new game called "Dotchie" ( I think that is how it is spelled ).  I still don't quite understand it, but they love it.  So, the older two each got a couple of sets.

As we were walking the truck pulled onto the sidewalk and started driving backwards on it... I think maybe he was trying to deliver something to one of the stores

Some more pics of the streets of Itaewon..

Our things still have not arrived ( our first shipment will be here this week!!), so a nice neighbor let us borrow her double stroller :)

The kids saw this guy selling Turkish Ice Cream and wanted to know if they could have some. He was SO funny!!  He would act like he was going to give the cone to them and then take it back, twirl it around, or hide it.  The kids just laughed at him!  Then a whole crowd came around to watch our kids...it was cute!  The ice cream wasn't that bad either!

Michael could not figure out where his ice cream went....lol

Once we got back to the post we were going to take the bus.  As we were waiting Josh saw these steps and dared Ethan to run them ( Ethan had been complaining about walking all day..lol)...so of course Ethan cannot turn down a challenge!

He made it!

When we got back home, the little ones were tired and took a nap.  Ethan was back to normal here hanging out with some of the boys in our neighborhood!  He was showing them his new Dotchies..

Until Next Time,

Michelle
