Keeping Busy...

Last week was full of swimming, VBS, and getting the kids all registered on post. One of the kids favorite places here on post is their outdoor swimming pool.  We have tried to go everyday when the sun is out ( which lately has been a lot).  This is really the first year that I've really been able to enjoy it taking all 4 kiddos by myself.  We only have 5 more weeks before the pool closes for the year, so I'm sure there will be more swim days ahead for the Craig family!

Taking a break from swimming...

Josh got to join in on the fun during the weekend :)

Can't go to the pool without getting some ice cream!

Ethan and Rachel also attended VBS this year at the chapel here on post.  Caleb and Michael were not old enough yet ( you had to have completed K to be able to attend).  They had so much fun and really enjoyed it.  I was amazed at how many kids were there.....around 250!

While the older two were at VBS, Caleb, Michael and myself did a lot of running around doing errands. The boys had done so great while I was doing my errands that I treated them to some donuts at the bakery here on post.  Then we headed to the Dragon Hill Lodge park to have some fun.....they had a great time!

Notice the rainboots on Michael....yeah, he has decided for the past week to wear those everywhere he goes...lol.  He calls them his fireman boots!

When I walked in to pick Ethan and Rachel up I heard this......it really touched my heart hearing all these kids sing their praises to God <3

Date Night: Zelen's

We have been so busy here this week with VBS, finishing up registering the kids for post activities, and other things, that I'm a little behind on the blogging :).  Hopefully, I can catch up in the next couple of days!

Last week was our 13 year anniversary, so we got a WONDERFUL babysitter ( that's a whole other post in itself) and headed out to Itaewon. I had asked around to find a great place for us to eat....we wanted something nice, but not too expensive, and somewhere that had great food!  Out of the 5 people we asked, 4 of them suggested a place called Zelen's, so of course we wanted to go check it out.

Zelen's is a Bulgarian Restaurant here in Seoul. Josh and I had never had Bulgarian food, so we were looking forward to trying something different and everyone we spoke too just raved about how great their food was.  We arrived at a great time ( around 5:30 )...there was only one other couple there and it stayed like that until about 6:30.  After that it started filling up really quick!

Our dinner started out with a bread basket and dipping sauce.  Then came our food...and OH MY WORD!!!  `Not only was it some of the best food I have tried in a long time, but there was SO much of it!  Even Josh couldn't help finish it all.  Since we had never eaten Bulgarian food, we decided to order the Couples entree.  It was so much food, two couples could easily share it!

After dinner, we decided we wanted to go see a movie at Ipark Mall. We didn't know quite how to get there. So,  after walking back to our truck and dropping off some bags we had a taxi take us.

Walking down the streets of Itaewon...

For some reason this made us  think of Josh's brother, Jonathan...lol.

Ipark mall was HUGE!!  As a matter of fact, it's one of the biggest shopping complexes in Korea.  I believe it had 7 stories. Here's a description of it from their website: "In I'PARKmall, you can purchase all kinds of items. There are I'PARK department store (Fashion store, Living store, Culture store ), Digital Specialty Store and E-Mart (discount store), Fashion Street ….. and more.  As entertainment, cultural space, there are CGV IMAX(Movie Theater),Event Park, the first E-sports Stadium in the world, Culture center and Putt Putt golf & game, Fitness center, Weddinghall and more convenience stores."

It took a little bit of walking around, but we finally found the movie theater.  However, we didn't realize how popular the movies were going to be.  Both "Batman" and "Spiderman" were sold out :(.  The only other English speaking movie they had was "Ice Age", so we decided just to walk around Seoul a little bit, then head home.  We plan on coming back to Ipark and checking it all out one day when we have more time :)

I didn't realize they still sold Swatch watches....I had several of these when I was growing up...guards and all :)

On the way out these guys were singing Christian worship music in Korean :)

Overall, it was a wonderful night spent with a wonderful man....truly blessed!

Summer Bash...

On Friday, Josh's unit had a family fun day!  It was also a time for them to their Hail/Farewells.  It was great finally meeting a lot of people that I had "Facebook" met before we moved here.  They all were so nice.  We had a great time and the kids LOVED it!

We were one of the first ones there, so the kids got the bouncy house to themselves for a while....

Getting the food ready to eat ( and it was delicious )

After we all ate, it was time for the Hail/Farewells.  Here they are introducing Josh to everyone!

While the adults were eating and talking, there were some wonderful people keeping the kids busy!!  They had water guns, water balloons, and several games for the kids to play!

Look, what I got to hold while the kids were playing...she's only one month old!!!  Isn't she beautiful!

Trying hard not to drop their egg....

At the end of all the games, they lined the kids up and gave them all goodie bags!!

Next came the fun!!!  To raise money for more functions, they had a couple of contests: the dunking booth, pie in the face, and one where the guys had to shave their head bald ( didn't get a picture of that one because they did it at the barber shop afterwards).

Getting ready to get dunked..she was such a great sport!  The kids got to throw the balls at the target.  It took a couple of shots, but sure enough one of them hit it.  It just happened to be...ETHAN!  He was so proud of that..lol.

Next up was the pie in the face contest!!  Josh was one of the ones who had the most money put on him, so he had to get pied.  The funniest part was who got to pie him...ETHAN!  I wish you all could have seen his face when he got to do this.  It took him a couple of seconds to actually do it because he kept thinking...can I really do this and not get into trouble?...lol.  The look on his face when he actually pied Josh was priceless!

What better way to get cleaned off....get into the dunking booth!

Josh was such a good sport!  It was another wonderful & fun day :)

Until Next Time,

Michelle
