WANTED: Your Best Crock Pot Recipes!!!

Ok, ladies, I am in need of help!!!  I LOVE my crock pot, especially on the days when the family doesn't get home until around 5:00 due to all the kids activities ( happens about 3 times a week). However, I am in a crock pot rut...I need some knew ideas ( that have been tried and your kids like).  So far we have chili, roast with veggies, bbq chicken, and meatballs.  That's about it....any ideas out there??  Or do you know of quick dinners to make?  That will help too!!  If so please share!!

Thanks....and HAPPY FRIDAY!!!!

Michelle :)

  1. One of my crock-pot staples is Crockpot Fajitas -

Take skirt steak that has been sliced into strips (sometimes the commissary already has these done - even better!)
Put in bottom of crock pot with sliced onion and bell peppers.
Mix together one packet of Fajita Seasoning with 1 Tbsp of lemon juice and 1/4 cup vegetable oil. Pour over meat and veggies, cover, and cook 6 hours on low, or 2-3 hours on high.

    Yummy!

  4. Marian...the chicken dip sounds great!! Unfortunately, my kids are not big soup eaters :(. Rachel is the only one that will eat it! I keep trying though...hopefully one day they will enjoy them!

  5. Fiesta Chicken
Put 4 boneless skinless chicken breasts in the bottom of the crock pot, even frozen. Sprinkle a packet of taco seasoning on top. Then pour a jar of salsa on top of that. Cook on low for 3-4 hours or until chicken is done. 15 minutes before serving, stir in a teaspoon of cornstarch and 1/4 cup of sour cream. I fix the boil in the bag rice and mix some Mexican blend cheese into it and serve the chicken on top. The leftover sauce is good on baked potatoes!

I also love roasts in the crock pot. The commissary will have them quite often in the bargain freezer and I've gotten them for $3 sometimes! I put the roast in the crockpot and then cover it with a can of cream of mushroom soup and a packet of Lipton onion soup mix. Cook on low all day long and it will be so tender! That's one of Gus' favorites and so easy.

  6. Chicken Strogonoff
boneless chicken breasts, 2 packets dry Italian dressing mix, melted butter. Combine dressing mix with melted butter. Pour over chicken in crockpot. Add one can Cream of Chicken Soup. Cook until chicken tears apart with fork, break up the chicken and add 8 ounces Cream Cheese and 1 medium container sourcream (more if preferred). Stir and return lid to crockpot. Heat through (30 minutes? or so) Serve over egg noodles or rice. (you can also substitute boneless pork chops. Brooke Carpenter (posting as anonymous because I am computer illiterate)

  7. Girls...you're the best!! These sound great and my kids LOVE chicken! Can't wait to try them out!! My kids favorite is meatballs...they either eat them by themselves or in subs. We had them last night and there is never any left!

    72-80 meatballs
1 large family size jar spagh. sauce
1 small can crushed pineapple ( looks like half a can)
    1/3 cup of brown sugar
    1 cup salsa

Place in crockpot 6 hrs low or 4 hrs high or last night I cooked it on the stovetop for 30 mins on med. high heat.

For those in MOPS, these are the ones I took that everyone loved!
