Yesterday we celebrated our second 4th of July here and let me tell you it was a blast ( even if it did end up raining).
One of the great things about living overseas is the sense of community here. We all come from different places, have different backgrounds and are a part of different services, but one thing we have in common, besides being apart of the military community, is we are all far from our families. So when holiday's come around we all ban together. I've said it before and I'll say it again, we are also blessed to live in a great neighborhood!!
This year one of our neighbors planned an amazing 4th of July picnic for our neighborhood. It was a day filled with LOTS of food, spending time with friends, meeting new friends, watching fireworks, and of course playing in the rain :) It was by far our best 4th here yet! Crazy to believe this time next year we will be leaving!!!!
The hostess with the mostess....party planner extraordinaire, Trish!
All the families were asked to bring a dessert & side dish.....I found this cute flag cake on pinterest & also took Gran's Bronco Beans!
The kids were ready to celebrate the 4th!!! Ethan had spent the night with one of his friends the night before so I didn't get a picture of him that morning...
The master grillers for the day....
More pictures from a fun-filled afternoon...
Josh didn't want to have anything to do with LSU...lol
These two are growing up SO fast!!!
One of the new friends we have made....they actually came from Mt. Home where we were stationed two years ago & we have several friends in common! One thing we have realized living over here is just how small the military world is!
Did I mention Trish even hired a band for the day :)
Eventually the rain came pouring down, but that didn't stop the fun!!!
From our house to yours, wishing you all a very Happy 4th of July!!!!!
Until Next Time,
Michelle
