It's Beginning to Look Alot like Christmas!!

This weekend my parents came to spend the day with us & we were SO excited to have them!!!  It has truly been a blessing to be within driving distance of family again.

One of my mom's many talents is her decorating skills and sadly I did not inherit them :(.  So thankfully she agreed to help me get my house decorated for Christmas.  I had some ideas of how I wanted things, I just needed her to put it all together and add the finishing touches to make it perfect.......and she did GREAT!!!!

Rachel really enjoyed helping Mimi...and I do believe she might have inherited the decorating gene :)

and Gran's acting skills ;).............Pretending to be a Christmas Tree

Thank you Mama SO much for helping me out!  You are truly one amazing lady and to Papa Mitchell, we couldn't have gotten any of this completed without you babysitting the kiddos...THANK YOU!!!!

A Booing We Will Go...

This week we were Boo'd in our new neighborhood!!  The kids were so excited to see a treat left for them and couldn't wait for their turn to go Booing. If you've never heard of getting Boo'd, it involves making a cute little Halloween treat bag/basket for two of your neighbors.  Then you put a note inside explaining the Boo tradition and a sign for them to put on their door saying "We've Been Boo'd" (that way no one gets boo'd twice).  After that you sneak up to their houses, quickly ring the doorbell and hide as fast as you can so they do not see you. Once you are Boo'd, you make two bags and boo more neighbors.  It is really cute and the kids look forward to it every year.

The kids enjoying some goodies they got in their Boo Baskets...

Well, after we got boo'd we made our baskets and went a Booing!  The kids had already decided the two houses they were going to go to and Josh was going to be the leader to help them sneak up to the houses.  Of course, nothing is simple Josh.....so he got both of the kids and himself dressed up in really dark clothes so they could not be seen.  Then off they went.

Our Boo baskets we made for our neighbors ( and Ethan's pumpkin he carved..)

Ethan and Rachel were super excited about going Booing...

All dressed up and ready to go...Josh told them to look mean..lol

I was really anxious to hear about how things went.  After about 30 mins, the threesome arrived back home.  They were SO excited and couldn't wait to tell me all about it.  The first house that got boo'd was our new babysitter that lives across the street.  This was the one Ethan was going to do and it worked out perfectly.  He quickly ran up there, placed the basket down and hid.  The neighbors didn't know what was going on.....they turned on every outside light and never found him!  He was super excited.  The next house was one street over.  This was going to be the one that Rachel was to boo.  Well, things started off great until about halfway up to the house Josh looked over and there was another one of our neighbors getting ready to boo the same house they were doing!!  Josh tells  Rachel to "Retreat! Retreat!" and she runs back to him.....lol.  They ended up talking to the other kids and laughed about the fact they were booing the same house.  So they had to go to plan B and boo another house.  It went off without a hitch. Needless to say it was a fun and exciting night!!  Can't wait until Christmas so we can go Elfing!!!

Family Fun Night...

Every Friday night is Family Fun night at our house.  We always try to do something special with the kids...either watch a movie, play games, go to the park,  do a craft, etc.  Well, this past Friday night we decided to have Coke Float night!!!  The kids had never had one and they were so excited!!

We started with frosty mugs that we put in the freezer.  Then added some delicious Breyers Homespun Vanilla Ice Cream and topped that off with some cool whip...can you say YUMMY!!!

Josh was the master float maker ;)

It was definitely a big hit with the kids..

Craft time with Gran....

Things have been quite crazy around the Craig household these past couple of weeks.  It all began about two weeks ago when I was rushed to the emergency room one night after church in severe pain.  Little did I know that the next morning they would be taking out my gallbladder!! I ended up having some gallstones and a very "angry" gallbladder. Thankfully my mom was only a couple of hours away and she came to our rescue those first couple of days to help Josh out at home with the kids. She was such a blessing to us!!

After she left Josh had a couple of days of doing things himself before his mom, who had already scheduled to come visit us during her fall break, was to arrive.  I have to say I am SO proud of Josh and am married to one amazing man.  He did such a great job taking care of the kids and the house while I was recovering!

Josh's mom finally arrived that following Sunday.  We always love having Gran come for a visit.  We had other things planned, but due to my surgery we pretty much just stayed around the house. The kids loved having her here and she brought all of us some cute TN clothes ( we always need those) and treats for the kids to enjoy.  She also brought some crafts for them to do.  So after bath time and before they would go to bed they did a Fall craft.  They turned out super cute and the kids had a blast!!!!  We all really enjoyed our time with her and can't wait to see the rest of the TN gang in November!!!

Getting ready to make our Pumpkin Men...

Caleb and Michael were SO proud of their crafts....

Ethan concentrating really hard on his stencil.... ( love Rachel's expression while waiting her turn....lol)

The kids really enjoyed making these...they even named them!!

The next night they got to make masks....so much fun!!

That smile just melts my heart... <3

Thank you Gran for a wonderful visit!!!

Until Next Time,
